๐ข Hey there ๐
Youโve likely ended up here having been sent an invite to be scouted on OpenScout by a Scout who would like to scout your company!
You may not yet know what OpenScout is, so weโve created this quick start guide. We hope that this provides you with a little bit of background as to what OpenScout is and to show you why being scouted on OpenScout is a great thing. ๐
๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ What is OpenScout?
OpenScout is a โscout-as-a-serviceโ platform that acts as a two-sided marketplace, allowing scouts to share deals with investors.
Whilst typical scout programs permit scouts to do this for one VC, OpenScout opens up an entire marketplace, both providing scouts a way to share their awesome dealflow with many different investors and providing investors with dealflow they otherwise may not encounter.
๐ What can investors see about my company?
Investors who follow your scout on OpenScout will be able to see all top level information regarding your company e.g. Vertical, Stage, Target raise, Location, Team info, etc. They will also see your โelevator pitch" in the form of a bio.
If an investor is interested in your startup based off the information they can see, they can download your pitch deck and request an introduction, which will be immediately facilitated by OpenScout, on behalf of your Scout.
๐ค Whatโs in it for me?
Being scouted on OpenScout means your startup will be seen by all the investors that follow your scoutsโs profile, helping you get exposure to, and hopefully inbound interest from, hundreds of investors.
Once added to a Scoutโs profile, all of the investors that follow them will be alerted that youโre fundraising, thus providing your startup with exposure to a whole host of investors it might not otherwise have the opportunity to.
๐ง All of this sounds great. Whatโs the catch?
There is none!
As a Founder, there is no cost to you or your startup when being scouted on OpenScout. Seriously!
Every time an Investor invests in a company, the Scout who scouted the company receives a success fee from said Investor. OpenScout takes a % of this success fee, meaning there is no cost to Founders or startups and all parties are aligned around helping great startups like yours get funded! ๐ค๐ค
