Top Workflow Tips

Become a power user

Updated over a week ago

Since launching Landscape, we've onboarded a wide array of funds including emerging managers, tier 1 VCs, CVCs and everything in between onto the platform, and along the way have picked up a range of top tips that can help you to get the most out of Landscape straight from the off.

We've compiled the most impactful below and frequently add more as we discover them.

πŸ—“οΈ Schedule Sourcing Time

The investors that find most success operating on Landscape tend to hard block slots into their calendars to ensure they stay on top of any new opportunities.

We'd recommend your investment team to block 30 minutes everyday or every other day as "Sourcing Sessions", and triaging through all the new opportunities within your configured Signal Feeds. You most likely won't need the full 30 minutes each time, but this helps to bake in the habit, and ensure you don't miss anything!

🎣 Cast a Wide Net

When configuring your Signal Feeds, we strongly recommend casting a wide net, across multiple feeds.

Investors that have most success on Landscape start by configuring 10+ Signal Feeds including "Catch Alls" as well as more specific feeds catered to sourcing more targeted opportunities.

After a few weeks, you'll have a good idea of the Signal Feeds that are generating the highest quality opportunity, and can unsubscribe from any that are noisy.

❀️ Use the In-Built Triaging System

We've built Landscape to support hyper efficient triaging for your investment team.

Once up and running, we notice the most efficient Investors treat their Signal Feeds like their inbox, and aim to get to Inbox Zero by the end of each "Sourcing Session".

When you're working through your Signal Feeds, you can either Hide or Save each Signal; and you can also opt to send a LinkedIn connection request to the founder.

Hide a Signal

Save a Signal

Send a Connection Request to Founder

Triaging a signal will remove it from your feed and get added to the "Triaged Signals" panel on the right side of the UI.

You'll be blazing through new opportunities in no time at all!

πŸ”— Connect Your CRM

This is an absolutely critical step to ensure Landscape plays nicely with your existing tech stack and workflows, and we strongly recommend getting your CRM connected before you start triaging Signals.

We have native support for Affinity, and support almost every other CRM through our Zapier and Webhook Integrations - you read more on CRM integrations here.

πŸ” Fast Track Your Diligence

Use semantic search in our Market Mapper to find companies that are operating within a certain sector that you're researching or conducting diligence on.

If you've received a pitch deck or know the website of the company that you're conducting diligence on, use our Competitor Search to type in the URL of the company to find competitors operating within that space or adjacent markets.
